Updates
Thanks to the help received, we have been able to open the first space at the entrance of the museum. We now have a cultural bookstore, where you can find books on regional history as well as literature by local authors. We also have our South Californian ceramics workshop up and running! Thank you very much for the support!
We are in the process of installing the endemic garden, as well as the Ecocultural hall, where we will talk about the biodiversity of our state, and we will talk about ecoculture in terms of how different cultures interact with the environment.

Baja California Sur is more than just a place: it is a living narrative, woven from the knowledge, stories and traditions of those who have called it home for millennia and who continue to shape its present.
VISION BCS arises from the deep understanding that this land possesses a unique quality, born from the multiculturalism of its inhabitants in their lasting relationship with the environment.
Our challenge (and opportunity) is to create a bridge that interconnects this wealth of cultural knowledge, transcending the boundaries of time and tradition.
The heart of VISION BCS is rooted in a fundamental change:
go beyond viewing our region as a singular cultural experience and instead embrace it as a dynamic multicultural sanctuary.
This project aims to serve as a beacon, a living example of how diverse communities, perspectives and traditions can come together.
The challenge we face is to interconnect all of this in a transcendent and accessible way, starting from the seed of thought of recognizing our space no longer as an experience of a single culture, but a place where the intercultural phenomenon is giving rise to a transculturality, whose basis of collaboration replaces division and the richness of our differences becomes the basis of a new vision of how to live, how to interact and how to co-create together.
Through VISION BCS and its pillars, we aim to inspire not only our community but the world at large, offering a model of coexistence that honors the past, thrives in the present, and builds a united and sustainable future. This is more than a project: it is a call to reimagine what is possible when we open ourselves to the infinite potential of shared understanding and collective creation of contemporary Southern Californian society.

Explanation

Intercultural Museum of Todos Santos
Why an Intercultural Museum?
The heart of Todos Santos is a place where cultures from many parts of the world converge, where histories intertwine and traditions are nourished by multicultural diversity.
This is the foundation of our people and based on it we are building something more than a space:
We are creating a bridge between people and their origins, between the past and the present, between local culture and the intercultural process that is taking place regarding multiculturalism.
Our intention in opening the doors of the Todos Santos Intercultural Museum is to create a unique space that celebrates the diversity and unity of our people, whose essence is deeply multicultural.
-
Interculturality . It is the interaction and dialogue between different cultures, in search of mutual understanding, respect, and reciprocal learning.
-
Pluriculturalism . It is the recognition and celebration that social identity is composed of cultures of different origins, traditions, and ways of life.
-
Transculturalism. This is the process through which cultural elements from different origins merge and create new cultural identities.
Todos Santos is a magical town where one-third of the population is native, another third comes from different parts of Mexico, and another third comes from all over the world. This blend of cultures not only enriches daily life, but also challenges us to find ways to coexist, understand each other, and build together.
An intercultural museum in this context isn't an extra; it's a necessity. A place where the stories of each group can be heard and shared. A space where visitors can learn, residents can connect, and we can all find common ground that fosters respect and cooperation and better supports the formation of a shared identity.
CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE MUSEUM TO THE CULTURAL ECOSYSTEM OF TODOS SANTOS
-
Preserving and celebrating history: The museum will connect the stories of the region's ancient settlers, indigenous cultures such as the Guaycuras and Pericúes, as well as international cultures that settled in the region, to understand why our traditions come from and where they come from, in the transcultural process that was formed due to these arrivals, and of the new generations that continue to write this narrative.
-
Fostering education and dialogue: Through interactive exhibits, workshops and events, the museum will be a learning space where all voices can be heard and where diversity is celebrated as an essential value.
-
Promoting cultural tourism: An intercultural museum will help position Todos Santos as an exemplary destination in cultural tourism, attracting visitors interested in authentic and meaningful experiences.
-
Building community: This museum will not just be an exhibition space; it will be a meeting point for the community, a space to build bridges between people of different backgrounds and strengthen social ties.
Your Support Makes a Difference
To finish this addition for our town, we need your help. Every donation brings us closer to opening a place that will be a benchmark for understanding, creativity, and cultural diversity. With your support, we will be able to complete the facilities and create a worthy space to share the ancient and contemporary stories of Todos Santos and its people.
Supporting this project means being part of something very important: a movement to build a future where interculturality is a driving force for positive change. Together, let's make the Intercultural Museum of Todos Santos a reality.
With your donation we will open the doors of this unique space so that Todos Santos continues to develop as an example of intercultural coexistence for the world.
Imagine a space where the stories, traditions and nature of Baja California Sur intertwine to create unique and memorable experiences.
The Intercultural Museum is not just a place to learn; it is a place to connect, experience and be part of the cultural and natural wealth of our region. But we need your support to make it a reality. With your help, this museum will be a living legacy, inspiring generations to value and preserve the diversity that defines us.

Cultural Bookstore
The bookstore will be a treasure trove of books dedicated to the history, culture, flora, fauna and art of Baja California Sur. From historical roots to contemporary texts, this space will be a place to learn, be inspired and connect with the soul of South California.

South Californian Ceramics Workshop
Here, visitors will be able to experience the magic of transforming earth into art. Using traditional and modern techniques, the workshop will offer the opportunity to create unique utilitarian pieces inspired by the textures and shapes of the southern Californian desert, connecting people with the identity and artisanal legacy of the region.

Hall of Cultures
This hall will tell the story of Baja California Sur's diversity, from the ancient Guaycura and Pericú tribes to the cultural mix that defines the region today. Through multimedia exhibits, it will be a tribute to the roots and intercultural coexistence that enriches our identity.

Ecoculture Hall
In this hall, visitors will explore how the interaction between human communities and the environment has shaped the region. With interactive exhibits and educational projects, this space will promote ecological awareness and responsible action to preserve our land.

Endemic Garden
This outdoor space will be a living tribute to the unique flora of Baja California Sur. A walk through the garden will allow you to discover the plants that give life to the desert and learn about their ecological, medicinal and cultural importance. It will be a place to relax, reflect and reconnect with nature.

Interactive Area
History comes to life in your hands! Here you can experience how our ancestors lived: paint your own replica of cave art, carve an arrowhead or participate in activities that will take you back in time while connecting with your creativity. Can you imagine painting your own cave art or carving an arrowhead like ancient cultures did? In this area, visitors will be able to participate in hands-on activities that will transport them to the origins of human creativity, fostering a direct and personal connection with the past.
